Kartra vs Clickfunnels – Pricing & Features In-Depth Comparison

Ever since Kartra launched a few years ago to dislodge ClickFunnels as the top funnel building platform, the Kartra vs ClickFunnels debate has been going strong.

Let's settle this today.

First, knowing that marketing can make or break a business, you are probably continuously looking for ways to stepping up your game.

Marketing automation platforms make this journey a lot easier by allowing you to streamline several marketing tasks and processes. This eventually helps improve the effectiveness of your marketing strategy and boost revenue by enhancing operational efficiency.

In other words, it helps you get stuff done and that's why a large number of ecommerce business owners and marketers swear by their effectiveness.

But, many struggle to figure out which one is right for their business.

If that resonates with you, you've come to the right place.

Here, I am going to compare two of the most popular marketing automation software available out there – ClickFunnels and Kartra

Whether you have just stepped into the ecommerce industry or have been around for a long time, you must have at least heard about ClickFunnels (even if you don’t know much about it) .

NOTE: If you haven't, see below for a quick summary or check my lengthy ClickFunnels review here.

ClickFunnels has been around for quite some time and has earned a reputable position in the industry. It is even being used by some of the most successful marketers like Russell Brunson (author of Dotcom Secrets) and Dan Henry.

Kartra, on the other hand, is comparatively new.

It has a lot of the same features that ClickFunnels has, but offers quite a few extra ones that can be very useful to many marketers.

Both the software can help improve your marketing strategy by streamlining your marketing and sales funnel, and automating lots of it.

But, which one is better? Let’s find out!

Comparing Kartra and ClickFunnels

To someone who’s new to the field of ecommerce or digital marketing, the two platforms may look similar as they both offer almost the similar services.

However, it is when you analyze them in detail that you figure out that both the platforms have several differences and each has something unique to offer.

Before delving into the software comparison, let’s briefly discuss both software for those who are new to digital marketing:

ClickFunnels – An Overview

Created by Russell Brunson in 2014 to overcome the technical problems he faced in setting up marketing campaigns and designing sales funnels, ClickFunnels is probably the most reputable and trusted marketing tool out there.

The key reason for ClickFunnels’ popularity is that it has greatly simplified the extremely complex funnel building process. You can easily create a high-converting marketing and sales funnel even if you are not a techie or internet marketing pro.

ClickFunnels vs. Kartra – Which is Better?

Since now that we have taken a cursory look at what both these marketing automation platforms have to offer, let’s now compare their different components to make it easier for you to pick the right one for your business:

Email Marketing

ClickFunnels clearly lags behind Kartra in terms of email marketing.

Not only ClickFunnels offers email marketing only in its Full Suite plan, but it is also very basic. With ClickFunnels, you’ll still need an STMP server to send emails.

Kartra, on the other hand, offers email marketing with all its plans and the feature is also quite comprehensive. From creating autoresponders to automating email delivery, creating automated campaigns sequences, drip campaigns, and broadcasts, Kartra offers you all. Furthermore, the software provides the option to use templates or create your own design.

Kartra's email sequences rivals the big players in this field like Active Campaign.

Video Hosting

With ClickFunnels, you will need an external video host, whereas Kartra comes with a powerful built-in video host. So, here again, Karta is the clear winner.

Membership Sites

This is another feature of the marketing automation platforms where Kartra wins by a mile.

While ClickFunnels does allow you to create membership sites, the feature has been reported to have several issues.

Kartra, on the other hand, allows businesses to not only create membership sites, but also allows you to host videos and keep track of your leads. The drag-and-drop function makes it very easy to use, making building membership sites a breeze for novice marketers.

Customization

Both Kartra and ClickFunnels offer customization options for checkout pages, shopping cart feature, as well as product pages, optin and sales pages, and multi-step funnels.

Payment Gateways

ClickFunnels works with PayPal and Stripe only, whereas Kartra allows multiple payment gateway integrations, including these two.

Calendar

This feature is not present in any of the ClickFunnels plan, whereas Kartra has recently introduced this feature into their software. It integrates with all other features of the platform, making scheduling and appointment management easier for businesses.

So if you are a consultant or need to have leads schedule time with you, this is a huge plus for Kartra.

Kartra Calendars are updated in real time. So, if a customer books a particular time slot, it will block it for all other users.

Customer Support

There’s a tie between ClickFunnels and Kartra here.

Both platforms offer customer support on their website as well through dedicated Facebook groups.

A/B Testing

As we have been discussing for quite some time now, a/b testing is one of the most essential practices to growing a successful online business.

Therefore, it is important that the marketing automation platform that you choose offers a/b testing feature.

Both ClickFunnels and Kartra come with built-in split testing and analytics functionalities, allowing you to test all your marketing tactics before implementing them. Here we have a tie again!

Integrations

ClickFunnels integrates with a number of auto-responders, like MailChimp, Infusionsoft, ActiveCampaign, and Aweber, without Zapier.

Kartra, however, requires you to connect with Zapier in order to use outside auto-responders. Without it, you’re restricted to its built-in automation software only.

Here, ClickFunnels wins over Kartra!

The Verdict

After looking into several key features and functionalities of both Kartra and ClickFunnels, it can be easily said that Kartra is the clear winner if you are looking for comprehensive “all-in-one” marketing suite.

However, if you are just looking to build high-converting sales funnels and already have other primary tools, ClickFunnels is possibly the best choice.

NOTE: If you do want to check out ClickFunnels, don't get started until you've checked my own ClickFunnels discount and bonus here.

ClickFunnels is also a great option for people looking for an affiliate management tool. The affiliate management system of ClickFunnels is simply great.

I personally use ClickFunnels, but that's because I started with it years ago. I also already have a list with Active Campaign and use Calendly for my CRO consulting leads.

But if I had to start from scratch, I'd go with Kartra. ClickFunnels is at the moment a bit more robust if you are an expert marketer, but Kartra offers such a wide range of features it makes it difficult to dismiss.

To sum up, both the platforms have some great things to offer; after all, they have been making rounds on the internet for some reason! 🙂
