A struggle most online businesses experience is encouraging customers to make repeat purchases. If you are in a similar situation, you might wonder how other businesses do it. Fortunately, it’s not a heavily guarded secret.
The way towards building customer loyalty lies in the time, effort, and strategy these businesses invest in their website and marketing efforts. If you think you lack these aspects, do not worry because, in this article, I will share with you what you can do to increase your Shopify store’s conversions.
If you want to improve your Shopify store’s sales, here are some tactics you can explore:
Encourage Customers to Create Website Profiles
Consider setting registration as a requirement for your online store’s sales process instead of it being optional. Having customer profiles in your shop will make tracking and managing sales easier for you. It will also be beneficial to the business in many ways.
For example, you can gather information, such as email addresses, from your customers. That way, you can send them targeted sales emails if they opt-in for such messages. It will also be easier for you to identify which shoppers are your best and most loyal customers, and you get to track the types of products they purchase through their history.
This process will make shopping easier for buyers, too. They no longer need to enter the same information each time. They only have to add items to their carts and proceed with the check out process directly.
Treat Customers With Discount Codes
One way to boost your sales is to give reasons for your customers to come and shop again. Consider launching promos inside your Shopify store. You can offer discount codes such as ‘Buy One, Get One,’ percentage discounts, or free shipping.
You are free to set the type of discount you want to give per product. You can put them in bundles, limit them to particular dates, or be specific with the guidelines to maintain your profit. Reward your loyal customers, too, to make them feel special and appreciated.
Settle Abandoned Carts
There are times when you will notice that you are getting an increase in website visits, but the numbers do not reflect actual sales. One of the main reasons behind this is shoppers adding items to their cart but not continuing with the purchase.
A study showed that in March 2020, the shopping cart abandonment rate in the world was 88 percent. This situation happens because of many reasons. Some wait for the best day to purchase while others are not sure, waiting for discount codes until they completely forget about their carts.
What you can do to deal with these scenarios is to set up automated emails for these customers. When they receive an email with a link to their abandoned cart, it might persuade them to take action and complete their purchase. Sometimes, you need to remind people to give them the push they need.
Add a Live Chat Feature to Your Online Shop
Most buyers need to get some of their questions answered first before they proceed with the purchase. In the US, 53 percent of customers abandon their cart if they do not get the answers they need immediately. You can address this by installing live chat software to help increase your sales.
The live chat feature helps increase your shop conversions by decreasing the shopper’s uncertainties. As cited by ICMI, Forrester’s report noted that live chat gives an average of 40 percent increase in conversion rate and a 48 percent increase in revenue per chat hour. This software will allow you to have real-time conversations with customers through a chatbox, making it seem like the interaction they would get in an actual retail store.
Connect Your Shopify Store to Your Facebook Page
If you have a big following on social media, you can link your Shopify store to your Facebook page to reach more potential customers. Doing so will make shopping faster and more comfortable for your audience. You can get more exposure, which potentially increases your conversion rate.
Through an Application Programming Interface (API), your Facebook shop automatically synchronizes with your Shopify account’s payments and inventory. There is no need to individually manage each platform, which makes running your business easier for you.
Conclusion
To increase your Shopify sales, you need to drive a lot of traffic to your website and give people reasons and reminders to continue their purchases. Providing ease to their shopping experience can also have the same effect. Keep these tactics in mind and implement them in your business to drive sales and promote customer loyalty.
